To be fair, this book is not bad. I had to read it for a book discussion, and it is simply not my kind of book. I try to avoid horror at all costs, and I just didn't enjoy the story at all personally. I rate books on goodreads by my own system of pleasure, not for objective quality. So while others will love this book, and think it is wonderful, I did not.
