Sage and King by Molly Ringle

What an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT!
I started this book with cautious optimism, and it didn't take long before I was totally submerged in the story. It flows perfectly, and without jumping into endless descriptions and backstories, it paints such a vivid image of the kingdom of Lushrain; the landscapes, their culture, religion, and politics.
I loved the characters. Their wisdom, kindness, mischief. Both Zaya and Col are inherently good, without feeling bland. While some might argue morally grey characters are better, I feel there's value in diversity, and right now this is the book I needed to read. Lighthearted, bright, and wickedly romantic.
Beautiful, utterly beautiful story!
