I LOVE Bo and Win, as people, as a couple, as expecting parents. I love their sense of humor, their kindness and understanding. Their mutual respect. This is the type of relationship I would like to have someday.

The way Bo steps up, is something I applaud. He is there for Win (& their future child) in a way I can only describe as enthusiastic and healthy. He does not judge her or her desicions. He treats her fairly. And I especially loved the conversations about financial stability and making sure their financial contribution was fair in comparison to what they made. Bo is a walking green flag and I want someone like him in my life tbh!

Bo was so cute and happy and excited. He felt needed and that was good for him. He had purpose again!
But it was in a healthy way. Not in a 'this child will fix my mess' kind of way.

Hannah Bonam-Young is the queen of writing green flag men with flaws but healthy communication and good intentions.

And the Disability rep?!! Chefs kiss 🤌🏻.
Bo is am amputee. Due to cancer he had to have his leg amputated. He uses a prothetic leg and the way Win handles this was awesome.
Win has a limb difference herself. She was born with a not fully formed hand. She is very determined and wants to do everything herself. She is very self sufficient and that was nice, but in some cases it was her downfall. Accepting help is hard for her; she has to work on that (and she does!)

Because they both are physically disabled, they understand each other on a deeper level. The (emotional) intimacy that occurs because of it was truly beautiful and will be healing to read for many disabled readers I think! (Myself included).

I could keep on blabbering about this book. But I'll stop here. Please go read this book. Its emotionally intimate, healing, hopeful, funny and truly beautiful!
