The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

5.0

This is an excellent book, especially for anyone who values a story well told, a reminder about the history of both human kindness and human atrocities, and characters one can care about. Zusak has Death narrate the story, and it is very effective. He expounds on how words have affected and ruled us, and has a really good mastery of using language, himself.
The story seems to go slow at times, but no matter what, it is well worth the read!
