Boy Parts by Eliza Clark

4.25

God it's so so refreshing to read a book that is on the edgier or darker side that actually has a fucking thesis. The way Irinas psychology is explored is fascinating, the idea that victims of abuse can very easily turn around and themselves become abusers when offered some of that same power and perceived superiority over others - social, financial, sexual, etc. How NICE is it to read a book that actually shows you something instead of 8 hours of omg pussy queen boss you're so woman problematic content. Yknow? It was also very fun and very easy to listen to, it kept bringing me back to it even at its slower parts.

ALSO, ELIZA CLARK'S VA? I kept forgetting that voice acting isn't her main thing throughout the course of the audiobook, she's an incredible narrator, the character choices she makes with speech patterns and vocal hues are so so good I would definitely recommend the audiobook version to anyone thinking to pick this up, it adds such a rich new layer. Also, having someone speak to me for about 8 hours in a Newcastle accent... i love being gay and the literal worst person on the planet, god bless
