Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo

3.0

In the final chapter, the author compares movies with plots (her example: La La Land) to movies without plots that expand our understanding of who we are as humans (her example: moonlight). I think this book fits squarely in the latter category, while I typically prefer the former. That being said, this did expand my understanding of who we are as women, and did so in a beautiful poetic way. I would love to see this turned in to a mini series, with one episode per character. I think that would be a great way to display the power of these stories.
