A horror story that delivers what you expect, but it felt like everything happened unnecessarily quickly and with little attempt to make what happened seem to make any kind of sense.
A group of friends decide to hire out a creepy haunted house. We learn the rumours of the bride to be whose spirit haunts the house, seeking more bodies to satisfy her desire for company as she awaits the arrival of her betrothed. Before long, the lights have gone out and they seem to be dealing with the presence of the bride of the stories.
It doesn’t take long before the tension between this group comes to the fore, and people are finding ways to justify some deeply unpleasant behaviour. Gore aplenty, and everything finishes rather quickly.
This had the makings of an interesting story but it just didn’t come together in a way that made sense. Still, at least I’ve crossed this off the TBR list and got one of the more awkward PopSugar 2025 prompts out of the way.
