I think this might just be my new favorite book ever, growing up as a latina, a lesbian, a big sister and in a religious environment this book just felt like a huge “I understand you and I am with you”. Yamilet is one of the most likable characters i’ve had the pleasure to get to know in a way I felt so connected to her, to the point I laughed with her and cried with her and for her. I think I couldn’t go into detail enough about this book and all of the things it got just right, mental health, complex parent relationships, racism and sexuality were all topics that were treated in my opinion in a very sensitive yet realistic way. I will forever be grateful to Sonora Reyes for writing this book, they did an amazing job and I really hope this book gets all the love it deserves <3
