I enjoyed this more than the first book in the duology. I feel as though I simultaneously had little complaint with what it was, but it felt as though it wasn't quite living up to the potential of the more satisfying book I wanted it to be. Still, I got through it quite quickly, and found Silver an infinitely more enjoyable narrator than Tobias (sorry, Toby). A lot of the descriptions
Spoilerlike the pink sky and the weird obelisks
were evocative and interesting, and I came to like the back-and-forth unravelling of what happened with Toby and Silver's relationship. I think I came around to four stars because I really did like Silver's character arc, though overall the duology left me with a bit of a feeling of more to be desired.
