Trigger warnings: death of a friend, death of a spouse (in the past), difficult childbirth, slut shaming?? Sort of???, gun violence, lying.
Definitely my least favourite of the three, and possibly my least favourite Tessa Dare book overall. Bel was...kind of insufferable with her relentless dogooding, and Toby was. Hmm. Not exactly controlling, but he spent a lot of time being all "WE ARE GOING TO GET MARRIED" and then lying to get out of the conditions that Bel wanted if they did get married. Or something???
Also, after reading the sentence "Toby scrambled to unbutton his fall before his erection burst right through his trousers." and literally all I could picture was the chestburster scene in Alien, and NO THANK YOU SIR.
Basically, all I know is that I cared about the side romance of far more than I cared about Bel or Toby. So...this one sort of boiled down to *shrug* for me.
