undercooked and underwritten. some interesting ideas here but alas everything still felt like a bit of an expanded outline instead of a fully formed book. crazy how many important scenes were vaguely summarized by the narrator as if we were rushing to get someplace important, but the more important place never came. I've seen the first three episodes of the tv adaptation and I think it has the potential to execute the plot much better than the source material. don't let me down elizabeth banks
