Renegade by Myra Danvers

Debauchery at its best.

I originally read this story when it was written under a pen name. Now, it has been completely redone, with tons of additional words, and a more focused story. The first book was just depraved debauchery. I am not complaining considering it was delicious. However, There was a part of me that did want to see more. Especially, because the potential was there with the small amount of story that was focused around the steam.

I got my wish, because this was fantastic. It felt like a totally different story because it WAS. I enjoyed the world-building and how this author managed to build on what she had. Finally getting a backstory with this much detail, was what I needed in order to connect with Renegade. The steam is still there but more balanced. Some parts of the steam was the same but it felt fresh because there was so much more happening in the story. I liked that.

It did end on a cliffhanger, but I expected that since so did the original story. I am thinking the author intends to keep the books the same in the series, just more fleshed out. I am all for that. Even though I have a general idea of what is to come, I am eager to get more because I like how this expended and redone version is going. It makes the original seem boring. Whereas that one was just filthy (in a good way), now, I am getting an actual full-fledged story.

I reread this as part of The Tease Anthology. It was just as titillating the second time as it was the first time. This woman knows how to straddle that fine line of filthy/dirty without making it cheesy and ridiculous.
