The Mindf*ck Series by S.T. Abby
3.0
Another palate cleanser here. I really enjoyed this one, to be honest. It was super entertaining and mostly probably not like something I usually read. Somehow, I usually only enjoy thrillers/detectives more in anime/manga form. But this series immersed me right away. I do love my morally grey characters, and in this instance, I support women's wrongs 100%.
Yes, the writing was more on the weak side, with some cringe dialogues, occasional soap opera dramatics, and some repetitiveness. How often the author used the expression about Lana "painting the town red" was getting on my nerves. But still, it was gripping my attention and I didn't want to put this book down. There are a lot of quite graphic scenes of torture, rape, and murders, so check your trigger warnings, because some of the depictions are very very brutal.
I loved the characters and the romance. But! I would rank this series higher if not for one particular scene in book four.
