Autumn
by Ali Smith
3.5
This was my second attempt in reading this book. The first time in 2018, the second time now in 2022. I've matured so much as a reader that I thought it would be a good time to go back and try again. I think I understood more? However, I was still lost for a good 1/3 of it, but that's okay. I know I'm not alone in that!
Ali Smith's writing is brilliant and for the parts that I "got", I'm willing to continue the rest of the quartet just for that. It was a quick read and there were some parts that were so moving. The parts that were over my head or confusing? Well, that's also 2016 for you. I think the ramifications of that time we are all still grappling with, whether you're in the UK/EU or US.
