You combine mäfia with stälker romance and i'm already hooked, but you add an opposites attract relationship between a heroine thats brätty and an obsessed hero?? Um hi, yes you can sign me up for a life time subscrïptïon plan 😍🫠
Dominique was such dynamic character. She felt very real and fleshed out in a way that is relatable to a large group of people. Her träumatic past and subsequent fear added so much emotional depth to her that I loved. She was snarky and brätty and refused to stand down and I couldn't get enough of her. Also, "Malen'kiy podsolnukh"??? Hello?? Could there be a cuter nickname for her??? I think not.
Niko is so down bad for this woman it's so funny. Seeing this big tough mäfia enforcer/surgeon just absolutely fall head first for her was so adorable and mushy and I loved every second of it. He was so patient and genuine with Dominique, which made my heart flutter over and over with how cute it was. This man is a great example of hard exterior who definitely embodies morally grey, with a soft and squishy interior for the right person to uncover.
The set up for the next book in the series was done so well, and has me incredibly excited for its release!!
The only slight issue I had, resulting in the half star deduction, is the time it took for the main characters to actually interact. I felt like I would have loved to see more of them together, and it may have helped in making their relationship feel even more real.
