I'll admit that I've not read a lot of horror. I sometimes find it too tense. This to me was excellent horror, however. As a fan of Haunting of Hill House (the show) and generally someone who enjoys more meditative horror, especially that explores family dynamics this was right up my alley. This is a top notch exploration of generational trauma and how we carry our parents and their hopes and dreams, successes and failures with us to become who we are, and I just really fell in love with this story and Stephen Graham Jones' writing. Looking forward to pick up another book by him.
