The first part of this book is quite good. My original plan was to leave a witty review of "This book was a personal attack against me, 5/5."

Then I got to the "here's how you can start healing yourself" part. I am amazed that the first part could be so succinct, poignant, and on point, while the second part is rife with quack theory, cliche, and one-size-fits-all-isms. I could go into it, but I'm not sure I'd feel it's worth it. Suffice to say, the tips offered in this book are about equal to the water-cooler witticisms you receive from your local toxic-positivity cleric and your general practitioner who's still spouting disproven mantras from the 70s.

I recommend reading the first part as it's a sobering take and overview on what you face in your adult life if you've had an awful, traumatic childhood. The rest... Toss it in the bin.
