Another version of the classic haunted house story, and this was a lot of fun. I really liked how the author used the dysfunctional family dynamics to explain why the main character didn't just flee the haunted vacation rental. The ghost / house was pretty spooky and I thought the author did a good job balancing the dread and seriousness you expect from a horror story with funnier moments. The family members were more or less all nuanced in the way you'd expect from a real family, and I enjoyed the way that the author kept you guessing around motivations and whether the main character would be able to reconcile with them.
The second half of the book felt a little slower, and I was kind of wondering where the author was going with it but I liked how she concluded the story.
