Left Drowning by Jessica Park

2.0

After reading Flat Out Love, I did not hesitate to buy this book. Although Left Drowning has some elements that Flat Out Love had such as the very likeable side characters, I wasn't convinced by the connection between Blythe and Chris and some of their actions were out of character.
Spoiler A person who doesn't believe in marriage doesn't commit to getting married at 21 to avoid being with the person they love. That can't even be explained by being damaged. Avoiding Blythe or entering a long term commitment is one thing but marriage?
I understand that it is the trend to add sex to sell books but the book just felt like two damaged characters in porn. A good story, is a good story regardless of sexual content. Sex is a normal part of life so I have no problem with it being in a book but when it overpowers the story or the story isn't strong enough to put it into context, it is disappointing.
