I loved this book. In the author's own words:
"Personal stories work for other people when those stories become both paradigms and parables. [...] The story crosses the threshold from my world into yours."
I feel that is exactly what happened here. I could relate so well to her storied experiences because she writes not only eloquently, but also parabolizes her experiences. I also really enjoyed the writing style, a sort of edited stream of consciousness where stories are first told, then analyzed or vice-versa and time isn't always linear. It gives the impression of a life narrated as it is unfolding. In that way it is not dissimilar to a diary entry. Very much edited for the public, of course. It is authentic, funny, uplifting, occasionally sad and a little bit tragic (or a least I think Mrs. W is). I'm so glad I picked it up.
