Black Clover, Vol. 10 by Yûki Tabata

5.0

While I'm slightly disappointed that Asta's situation with his arms was resolved so fucking fast, I can live with it for now. Especially because this volume was so fucking dope!

My head is spinning from all of the action and character development. Once again, Finral, Vanessa, and Asta team up and their teamwork is incredible! But the best by far was best girl Noelle! I love how even though she's made good progress, she's still held back by her family's treatment of her and she has to be snap herself out of it to improve. Tabata understands that people like Noelle don't just bounce back from years of verbal abuse; it takes time to become stronger both mentally and physically, and it takes a lot of reassurance from others to push past it. And Noelle kicked some serious ass this volume, easily one of the MVP's.

I wanted to learn more about the witches, their culture, and history. I kind of wish we had had some time to discuss it, but considering this is a blisteringly fast paced battle manga series, that wasn't going to happen. Whatevs, hopefully we'll get more info in the future.

I loved seeing the former Diamond Kingdom soldiers stand up to their country's strongest and got to show their stuff. I also liked seeing Mars defend Franzel, implying he could be turning against his country as well. Also, seeing more of that flashback from when the last three eyed villain died has me curious about the Clover Kingdom's past. I have my theories, but I'll keep them to myself for now. But what I like is that we're seeing the same flashback over and over, but with something new added each time. I don't why I like this so much, I just do.

Curious to see where this invasion goes, but I know it's gonna be great!
