An Absolute Bloody Disaster 🩸
“We leave the house two-by-two—an undead Noah’s ark— and climb into four cars, caravan big down the dark street like a funeral procession” - Lindsay Clement
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars
Release Date: 12th October 2021
The perfect October read for any vampire fans. We’ve got our first 5 star read in 3 months! As soon as Lindsay announced this book and the premise I could NOT wait, and it did not disappoint. Thank you so much @novelitica for sending me an ARC copy. ❤️
I’ve not connected to characters like this in the longest time. ALL of them! Not just one, every single character. I love their friendships, their sassy interactions and history together. I found myself feeling angry, wanting to cry and giggling along with them. 🙈
Charlotte was just so relatable, so impulsive but also a sarcastic queen. Xander was fiercely protective, so suave and just the perfect head of the house. I adore Nik and his tortured soul. Rose and Pippa were like the best friends I wish I had. I’m not a fan of the “ray of sunshine” love interest, but Tristan was funny and I warmed to him quite quickly. ☀️
The flashbacks gave us a bigger picture of the plot and gave more depth to the characters. There was a lot of character development, particularly for Charlotte but the flashbacks also allowed characters like Rayna to shine. I loved the references to other time periods, countries and languages. 🌍
This book was definitely allowed us as readers to build a relationship with the characters. I have a feeling Lindsay is gonna rip my heart open in the next book…I’ve been set up big time.🧛♀️
I felt so engaged despite a slightly slower start, the writing was just SO easy to read, particularly once things kicked off. The plot was good, I definitely feel that it set up the next book nicely. I expect it to be a lot more story driven, lots of action but I thoroughly enjoyed what we got in AABD. 📕
Go and grab a copy ready for release day! 👀
Side Note: I couldn’t find a Hawthorn bush but this is pretty close no? Don’t worry, I kept well away 😂🙈 Swipe for official cover photo from Lindsays insta. #anabsolutebloodydisaster #arcreader #octoberreads #vampirebooks
