Wow. Just wow. I think this book easily became one of my favorite romance novels ever, because it was so much more than I thought I was signing up for. It completely subverted all my expectations of what I thought the plot would be, and instead became the most beautiful story of “right place, wrong time” (literally). From how unique the concept was to how the littlest of details would become incredibly important to the plot, it was the best type of rollercoaster a book could take me on. And putting the romance aside, this book is also a letter about grief and how lost we can feel within it. Despite not having experienced what the main character had gone through, the pain and sadness she felt, felt like my own at times, which is just a testament to how well the author captured the experience.

Ashley Poston’s first book, The Dead Romantics, was quite good, don’t get me wrong. But this novel? How poetic it was? How it still managed to pull laughter out of me, despite the heaviness of the grief within its pages? It easily became my favorite between the two of them. I can see myself picking this story up again multiple times in the future, so I absolutely will be investing in physical copy. If you are looking for your next romance read, I HIGHLY recommend this one!!
