If you are looking for a wild and smutty book about swinging, this is not that.

If you are looking for a book about self discovery, self acceptance and the importance to not worry about others when you could worry about yourself, then this is the book for you.

There were moments in this book I literally laughed out loud and there were moments that were somber and made me think. I am not sure what this book is categorized as but I would not strictly say this is a romance even though there is romance in it. I would be willing to categorize this as women's fiction.

This modern day Emma retelling captures the heart of the classic and gives it a little twist along the way. Poor Georgina, our titular Emma character, thinks she is the best of the best when it comes to everything. She thinks she has the perfect marriage and gives the perfect advice. She believes she is the sole matchmaker responsible for the outcomes of her friends' love lives and she also believes she is the best mentor there is.

Reality really hits poor girl in the face when she finds her husband face down in her mentoree's lap. After this event, it sets the rest of the book in motion. She starts having to take a long hard look at all areas in her life and maybe find out that she isn't the be all end all in all of her friends' and families' lives.

This story starts with a cheating scandal and while there is swinging involved there is a blurred lines cheat towards the middle of the book, just to warn you.

I really enjoyed the lessons learned within this book and the complexity of flawed characters. It felt very real and raw.

I only wish there had been more in depth writing in regards to the sexual relations. If there had been, then I think this book would've been a 4.5 star for me.
