I listened to this as prep for reading the sequel, and wow am I glad I did. I remembered enough to get by, certainly, but reintroducing myself to these characters and their story was a delight.
Zinnia zips through her story with the healing rush of a person with flickering hope. And the princess in this is as self-sufficient as we (and Zinnia's best friend Charm) can hope for in a fairytale.
If you enjoy retellings and flipping tropes on their heads, give this one a read. It's brief and fun and easy!
