I really wanted to like this book more than I did. The covert art was eye catching, and the synopsis sounded really promising! And then I started reading it.. and reading it… and really, I finished this book out of spite.  The whole book being centered around this sort of cringy pop culture world was kinda not for me. Especially when I went in wanting to read about witches and werewolves, and there was more about Star Wars than the actual plot of the book. The references were just too much, one or two pop culture zings is fine, but the entire books personality was based on this and… yeah. I could do without.

Evie was both cool and also cringy! We really didn’t get much of her personality outside of being a comic book nerd. I did enjoy the other sisters. And I think they all had their own personalities and characters I really liked, especially Clara and Violet. I also thought the whole venom vibe of Mateo and his wolf was also really cool, but all of this was greatly over shadowed by the writing itself. It was so bland. So so bland. It was both choppy and just?? Didn’t follow right most of the book. I couldn’t really submerge myself into the writing without getting slightly bored every chapter. And don’t even get me started on the erotic bits….

‘My nipples saluted with gusto’ and calling her coochie ‘little lady’??? Lmaaao stop!!!

The one that really got me was ‘all I could do was moan and pump my hips like a greedy porn star. A porn star in puppy dog and kitty cat pajamas’ like WHAT IS THIS??? Goodbye. It was enough that I have no desire to even pick the next book up.

The actual plot and premise of who the witch was would’ve been really cool if the conflict hadn’t been resolved in the last 10% of the book, and said witch was in the book like twice out of the FOUR HUNDRED PAGES of this story. Anyways… so glad I’m done with this!
