Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This had so many things I love in reading but fell a bit short for me. I did love the attention to detail that is obvious in the worldbuilding and the overlap of the storylines. That being said, it was extremely difficult for me to follow at first– so many characters, their clan affiliations/ranks, their backgrounds/relationships to each other, past information about the clans– all necessary information but a bit dumped at the beginning, especially in contrast with the rest of the book that is very plot and action heavy. The chapters were a bit choppy at times to skip forward to the next big action sequence.

I felt like the characterization was done well and the characters were distinct and felt very real to me. The vibes were great and I did feel immersed in the story, but I think I was hoping for more introspection and to get to know the characters more personally.
