No strong representations of diverse characters or minority identities.
So freaking adorable.
I’ll admit I would’ve preferred there be a transition scene before the MCs slept together for the first time.
Since books like these are 90% smut, it’s nice when there characters are deepening their emotional connection on-page as it gives credence for their insta-love. But, alas, the sweet emotionally vulnerable moment went straight into inappropriate (because of the location) sexy times 🤷🏻♀️.
Also, a major plot-hole [was that the MCs never had sex with a condom or discussed if the Heroine was on birth control. At this point I’m just going to assume was because they had unprotected sex every single time in this book and yet there was no baby in the epilogue (senior year of college). (hide spoiler)]
However, it didn’t detract from my rating because I didn’t go into the book expecting the smut to take a back seat.
Safety Rating: Safe
• No cheating
• No OW drama
• Does have OM drama
— Heroine is asked to go to homecoming by the quarterback and the Hero thinks she accepted (she didn’t!).
• Does have the Hero pushing the Heroine away
• No separation
Possible Triggers: Yes
• Fat-shaming and internalized fatphobia
Ending:HEA with Epilogue... I wanted an extended epilogue tho! We only get to see them in their senior year of college
