This is a continuation of Cressida & King's story from book one of the series. The first half of this book dragged a bit as most of it takes place along the same timeline as things that happened in book 3 so nothing fresh was really added to the overall plot but thankfully the second half of the book picked up as we got to a timeline after the events of the last book. These two aren't my favourite of the couples in this series, their inner monologues and their dialogue towards and about each other comes across as pretentious and too flowery to me and I find myself rolling my eyes alot of the time. I get they are into poetry but nobody talks like that, they just don't. The last third of the book is where this story really makes it's impact and I was gutted for the Fallen family while reading it. I loved seeing more of the Fallen brothers and their dynamics as a club, knowing Axe Man is the MMC of the most recent book to be released that I am yet to read I definitely paid more attention when he was mentioned this time round. Savannah Peachwood, Jacob Morgan & Jason Clarke all did a phenomenal job narrating and I loved their performances. Overall a good read. 🌶🌶
