This was a really great book, it started out a little shaky, and I found David kind of annoying. However, as the story progressed and as I started to love the Reckoners this book was just amazing. I loved this book and cannot wait for the next one.
Excuse me, Brandon but how dare you make me tear up while reading the prologue? That baby turning into bones and then David’s dad dying was so sad.
I’m sorry but “Newcago” is a stupid name.
“But even a ninety-year-old blind priest would stop and stare at this woman. If he weren’t blind, that is. Dumb metaphor, I thought. I’ll have to work on that one. I have trouble with metaphors.”—Page 25
My first bad metaphor, I love this kid already.

Oh shit, Nightwielder comes and that chapter with the UV light was so tense. It was beautiful.
I’m sure that Firefight won’t be a problem next book, especially since the next book is called Firefight
Oh god David seeing his father was so heartbreaking.
“‘Turns out I like you too much to hate you, Knees.’ She eyed me. ‘Don’t let it go to your head.’
I wasn’t worried about my head.”

We’ve got Conflux, this is concerning.
How dare you, Brandon? You cause Megan to get horribly injured then you make her survive so David can take her back to the base and then you kill her. You are an evil man you made me cry.
“‘Not as bad as the El Brass Bullish Dude,’ I said.
‘You’re kidding. There’s really an Epic named that?’
I nodded. ‘From inner LA. He’s dead now, but you’d be surprised at the stupid names a lot of them come up with.’”—Page 316
Of course it was in LA also, Newcago is an incredibly stupid name (just had to state that again).

Prof was a 5th grade science teacher? Huh.
Oh, Megan isn’t dead she’s Firefight.
Steelheart recognized David.
Steelheart’s weakness is he can only be killed by someone who isn’t afraid of him. So the only person who could kill him is himself. Clever.
Prof isn’t dead and he’s an Epic. That’s…epic.
That’s why Megan couldn’t use the tensors, because she was an Epic. This explains everything. My mind is so blown and this was such a good ending because this mystery of what Steelheart’s weakness was just killing me and the only thing I could think of was that David was an Epic that weakened Steelheart. I was so wrong but this made sense and I loved it. Also everything with Megan, like there’s still questions but it makes sense and I’m so amazed.
