A "modern" (at the time) take on Dante's Inferno, which I read once in college and only minimally remember; yet while there may have been some nuances that I missed, you don't need to be too familiar with the story to understand what's happening in Linden Hills.
Overall, highly enjoyed this; was sucked in on the first chapter and stayed glued throughout Lester and Willie's entire descent. I'm still a little puzzled by the final exchange (what did Lester mean by "No, don't you see, they let it burn"? That they had recognized Nedeed's evil and were letting it burn itself out? ), but the journey to the end was well worth it.
