3.5

The first 50% of the book was very difficult to read, and I was VERY close to DNFing the book. It wasn't difficult in the words were too large or not understandable. It was more so that it was written to be so heavy. It was as if the first half was supposed to make the reader feel not academic enough to understand, which made it not very enjoyable... however, once past that point when it got more into an actual story than feeling like a monotoned professor's speech, it picked up. The last half was enjoyable, with Wendell opening up more and then Emily going off to do something a tad stupid and Wendell having to save her. I give it a 3.5 ⭐️
