I am so thankful the author Trinity reached out to me as this book has quickly become one of my top favourite books of all time! This story was well written, well-paced with plenty of drama that kept me guessing. The characters fitted well with the story and were well developed. The main girl Tatum struggles with mental health and her story helps us gain an insight into daily struggles and how it can affect relationships. All in all, this story was an emotional rollercoaster and I was totally invested in these characters lives; it would make a great movie. I cannot wait for the sequel!
When Axel arrived onto the scene, I liked him instantly, even though we know we shouldn’t, he’s hard to resist. I was glad to see Tate and Axe spend time together but understood Tate’s hesitancies. Lucas was portrayed in the blurb as the safe, sweet option but I was creeped out by him from the start and rightly so as it turned out! As Tate and Axe’s relationship progressed, I was more and more invested, that’s why when it came to the chapter with Brooke, my heart broke for Tate. It had me questioning Axe’s intentions and his true ability to change and unfortunately yet again later in the story. I found Axel’s protective trait very endearing. I was really pleased when Tate got to confront the reason for her C-PTSD which helped make her even stronger. It shows people who are going through similar situations that things can and will get better.
