Alien: The Cold Forge by Alex White

4.0

While familiar in a lot of ways, with The Cold Forge White delivers a solid new entry in the Alien canon. And even apart from the existing franchise, the novel is a strong tale of sci-fi horror. With a cast ranging from morally gray to reprehensible characters, The Cold Forge is an exploration of survival, greed, and the line between humans and monsters. Delivered with cinematic tension and strong narrative construction, the events of the novel quickly go from bad to worse in a fast-paced and gripping fight between inner demons and the apex predators roaming in the darkness.
