Inventive and atmospheric, Krause's sophomore novel was well worth the wait. There are many vivid images from this story that will linger long in my memory, from the ghost bride to the webbed trees and of course, my goodness, the Man of Sap and his . . . well, let's just say everything about the Man of Sap. This would make a terrifically haunting movie or miniseries. Ahem, Netflix!
