Well, I got the date wrong for book club and finished this one a week early. Oops!

I really, really enjoyed this book. It was engaging for the entire 1100 pages, which is no small feat. There are so many small things about how each of the characters ended up that I loved--Eugenie Danglars, for instance, is living the dream. I dinged a star because

my dear sweet Edmond, why did you have to get with the LITERAL TEENAGE SLAVE that you raised from childhood??? What the actual fuck, dude??? You could have had such a romantic subplot with a partner your own age, but no!!
