Thank you to Fierce Reads and Henry Holt for the advance reader copy and to Macmillan Audio and LibroFM for the complimentary audiobook. These opinions are my own.

Officially, this is a stand alone YA novel. However, I actually felt it works best as a sequel to Firekeeper's Daughter even more than Warrior Girl Unearthed did. There's a lot in that first book that provides backstory for characters and important information about Ojibwe culture. So I do recommend reading it first. Fortunately, I have read and loved all of Angeline Boulley's books and followed the story in this one quite easily.

The main character of Sisters in the Wind is Lucy. We get a variety of different timelines and chronology, learning about her family and ancestry along with her. She is an incredibly strong main character, and I so greatly appreciated having her perspective throughout.

In this book, I learned so much about the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). How the law is and is not enforced to help native children, especially those in the foster system, is such an important topic. This book spurred me to learn more. But all of that fabulous knowledge comes in second to the amazing plot.

There's a mystery with fire and stalking and so many questions. This thirller kept me at the edge of my seat. I stayed up late to finish because I had to know the ending.

Isabella Star LaBlanc again narrated this book. While I will probably forever associate her voice with Angeline Boulley's writing, she has such range that I didn't confuse Lucy for Daunis and could easily tell the voices apart.
