Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson

adventurous emotional mysterious sad slow-paced

3.0

3/5

There were aspects of this book I really enjoyed: the art, the poetic tones, culture, & soft love.

However, this book has taken me all summer to finish in all mediums: ebook, audio, & physical. I found the pacing of this book to be brutally slow & a bit repetitive.

I feel like I should mention this is the first Brandon Sanderson book I’ve ever read. I know this is technically part of a series but read it could be enjoyed as a standalone. This book was 1000% a cover buy for me (I have the white cover/manga inspired looking one). The artist for this book is phenomenal.

Overall, I’m not compelled to pick up another book by Sanderson but I’m also not opposed to trying another.
