I was so excited to finally pick up this hyped and beloved historical romance. I completely adored Lord Ian Mackenzie. I really appreciate that Jennifer Ashley wrote a hero that was on the spectrum. This was my first book by her and I can't wait to read the entire series. She wrote such amazing side characters and I can't wait to read the next book.

Ian really decides to warn Beth off of marrying a man who is after the fortune she inherited from an elderly woman she was a companion for. He is immediately attracted to her and offers to marry her instead. Beth is intrigued by him, but turns him down so she can live in Paris. She finally has freedom to do what she wants. Ian follows her to Paris because he is determined to make her his. Beth wants to have friends with benefits situation with him and he is biding his time till he can make her his wife. The only problem is Ian does not think he is capable of love and she is falling hard.

I loved how understanding Beth was with his eccentric behavior and did not view him as "mad." They had such a sweet and beautiful relationship.

I had a great time buddy reading this with @Books4everAfter. I will also have a vlog coming soon, probably after I read the 2nd one.
