Revenge of the Walker
by Coralee June
Revenge of the Walker picks up a few months after Fight of the Walker ended. Ash is separated from some of her guys and is emotionally detaching from the rest. While she might've escaped the cruelty of Ethros she is forever changed, no longer protected from the true evils of her world. But this book shows us a different side of Ash. She is angry, no longer content to be protected, and willing to do whatever it takes to have her family back together again.
In this book we really get to see Ash come into herself. She becomes tougher, physically and emotionally, and won't let anyone leave her behind or push her aside in order to protect her. She is ready to dive right into the action and do anything to get back to Cyler and Maverick and work with the resistance to stop Cavil.
I also loved the introduction of the mindspeak and Jacob's recovery. He was always a very perfect character, but this book we get to see him in a different light and really get to a closer look at what's going on in his head. It was amazing and at some times hilarious!
Another aspect that I loved in this book was Jules and Ash's relationship. Their friendship is pretty great and they're good for each other. When the guys are reluctant to get them involved, Ash and Jules are ready to jump in. We've been able to see both of them grow over the last few books and come out of awful situations stronger than ever.
Last thing that really got my attention in this book was Dominique. In the last book she was introduced and seemed to be an interesting and somewhat damaged character, but we really get to see the full scale of her impact in this book. Her involvement with Lackley and X was so much more than I could've imagined and I really loved the way Coralee involved her and her son in the story.
The end of this book is intense to say the least. So much happens and Ash is forced to really step up and her actions might change her forever. The resistance is rising up against Cavil and Ash is rising too, earning her name as Queen of the Walkers.
Revenge of the Walker is another amazing book by Coralee June and my favorite (so far) in the series. Ash's character really evolves in this story and I can't wait to see where the last book in the series will take her and her guys!
