Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

Agh, Mr Rochester.

“I remembered that the real world was wide, and that a varied field of hopes and fears, of sensations and excitements, awaited those who had the courage to go forth into its expanse, to seek real knowledge of life amidst its perils.”
Just, wow. I listened to the last chapter twice on 1x speed because I truly didn't want this book to end.
Jane. I just loved this protagonist so much for so many reasons. Her character traits were just fantastic and I felt such love for her. I knew I was going to love this character from chapter 1 when she was ten years old at the Reeds' and punched her cousin in the face. She was intelligent, independent, and kind. I loved when I got to read about both when she was little, and her adventures at Thornfield.
Mr Rochester. Ugh. I love. His character was well developed and had a lot of depth--not to mention he was mysterious, dark, and broody, hehe. At first I was like: ew the age difference is too much between him and Jane. But I have to say, Ms. Brontë, he definitely grew on me throughout the book, and he is just--agh. Amazing.
Charlotte Brontë's writing was absolutely fantastic. It was easy to read (for a classic I think), but not dumbed down at all. The descriptions filled my soul with joy, and the witty dialogue made me laugh out loud. The plot that the author presented before us was spectacular, it was far from linear. It wove through so many details and things I didn't expect to make the story as a whole really complex and fantastic.
This was just a fantastic book to read, and I would highly, highly suggest picking it up if you have not!!
Have a wonderful morning
