This was such a good book and I will never be able to recommend it to anyone. The main draw is the writing, which is superb, and I have seen reviews comparing Moshfegh to Sally Rooney or J.D. Salinger, which feels right vibes-wise. Moshfegh also works in commentary on class, pretty privilege, art, consumerism, and the american identity, which I enjoyed. I want to read more of her writing but I'm also a bit scared.
