Death Comes As the End by Agatha Christie

3.0

I see what Agatha Christie was trying to do here, and some of it worked and I really liked (A murder mystery set in Ancient Egypt. I'm not much of a historical reader so this is a new gear-change for me, though I do have one or two other murder mysteries set in the past [[book:Blood & Sugar|40859099], [b:Daughters of Night|49205544|Daughters of Night|Laura Shepherd-Robinson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1576498279l/49205544._SY75_.jpg|74657442], [b:Death of an Eye|42293776|Death of an Eye (Eye of Isis Book 1)|Dana Stabenow|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1539439378l/42293776._SY75_.jpg|63910084], etc]).

Others, not so much (A serial killer? And it takes the family how long for them to figure out a killer is living in the house with them? And why, OH WHY, is every slave in the book described "the little black slave" EVERY BLOODY TIME?!) .

It's not the worst Agatha Christie I've read. It's not the best, either, and some elements don't really stand the test of time.
