I really enjoyed this book. I don't usually care for second-chance romances but this was so enjoyable. If you like surly male leads and energetic female leads, this is a great book with that dynamic. I laughed more than I thought I would and was kicking my feet with giddiness. Ama and Elliot didn't feel like cookie-cutter romance personalities. They have individual problems, trauma, grief, professional setbacks, personal setbacks. They are complete, individual people struggling to untangle this emotional mess they’re in. The story doesn’t go super in-depth about these things but they come up here and there often enough that it makes their characters a little more rounded out and not just there to be in romantic tension, which can sometimes happen in romance books. I found their relationship to be kind of a whirlwind of emotion, fears, reservations, love, support, forgiveness. I had a great time reading it and I recommend it!
