audiobook review

Meet Eden. She's separated from her husband. Her daughter is off at college. She's lonely. Along comes Justin. They had a brief fling in college, and now he's in her Facebook DMs. Would it be a shock to anyone that he may not be as awesome as he seems???

I'll be honest, at first this one seemed a bit silly. You exchange three sentences worth of messages and suddenly are envisioning a new life with this former crush? Damn. How many stories about senior citizens falling for Facebook scams do you need to see to realize there are some major red flags here?? And she's maybe early 40s. BUT then I remembered that when people are lonely and desperate for connection, logic isn't always strong. Still... come on, girlfriend. There's a reason you're keeping it a secret from your BFFs.

*Also, does anyone remember Ann's friend, Justin, from Parks and Rec? (Played by the babe Justin Theroux.) They're all obsessed with him and constantly say his name, and I couldn't help but think of it here.*

Anyways, once I accepted this ridonkulous behavior from Eden, I was generally entertained. There were a couple things I didn't see coming which was fun. It reminds me of some other domestic suspense storylines we've seen a few times, but I liked it's unique spin.

This was a quick, easy to follow audiobook with decent narrators. Unfortunately this one isn't on Libro.fm, so I had to use Audible.

Rating: I liked it a lot! (3.5)
