Little Bird by Ria Wilde

I would have never guessed this is the author's debut novel. If she did this good with book one, I could only imagine what book two will be like. Read the trigger warnings; it’s a dark romance, and there are several. Also dirty and deliciously dark. On my dark scale, it’s medium gray.

What do you do in the mafia world when an enemy kills your loved one? You get revenge when they least expect it. Enters Wren. Lex kidnaps Wren to seek revenge on his enemy. Let's just say the kidnapping didn't go as expected. Wren is bat shit crazy, and the girl can fight and is an excellent marksman. I laughed so hard at Lex’s reaction I was crying. Everyone has underestimated this little killer; she is fierce and not scared of anything. She is my hero.

There is a ton of push/pull between the two. Both are drawn to each other like a moth to the flame and are pissed off about it. I usually say I am waiting for them to kill each other or rip their clothes off. But these two try and kill each other while ripping their clothes off. Lex and Wren are perfect for each other. Both are borderline on unhealthy behavior and relationship.

That cliffhanger is a doozy, I was literally sitting on the edge, and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us. My only constructive criticism is they were a
small amount of repetition. Kudos to Ria Wilde; I am impressed.
