The Appeal by Janice Hallett
3.0

This started strong, I liked the format, all the characters were very insufferable in a good way, but the second half lost me. There too many jumps in the second half to make the murder work, it felt like a logic puzzle, but you didn’t have all the pieces. The main jump being that Helen who you never hear about had Münchausen syndrome, like where tf did this come from, also James being the one to kill Sam was a stretch.

As fun as the format was at the beginning, I wished that they would have switched over to a normal format after the murder, see the trial and figure out what happened with the lawyers.
