Cocky Playboy by Alex Wolf, Sloane Howell

5.0

If this is how these two authors write together I cannot wait to read them separately. This book was like the perfect dessert that everyone wants the recipe for. It had just enough romance, humor, angst, steam, and some kick butt characters. I can’t wait for these two authors to write another book together!

Tate was an amazing kick-ass female character, she was taking no one’s bull shit. She is a top lawyer, she works for a hard butt boss, she doesn’t put up with men’s crap, all while wearing amazing shoes. I enjoyed how she immediately upon moving to a new town found out what friends were closest and set up a dinner. Not only that she tried to make the office secretary/assistant her friend too. That shows compassion and warmth underneath that hard exterior. I liked watching how she interacted not only Decker but his brothers and didn’t take their crap. I can never say this enough I love it when any kind of romance novel has a strong female protagonist, this book did it so well.

Decker obviously has to come off like a turd in the beginning of the book, but as we all know that’s not his whole story. I LOVED watching his inner battle with himself about not sleeping with coworkers. I really, really enjoyed the fact that he and Tate kept trying to one up each other, it made him more human and not such an asshole. I can’t spoil the book but he obviously has a secret he is keeping from Tate. I kind of would’ve loved to have seen more dynamic with his brothers although if this is going to be a series (pretty please) I’m sure we will see more of that. I so enjoyed seeing the secret side of his life
