I greatly enjoyed His Secret Illuminations! I felt that the characters of Lucían and Glory were well developed, as was the world around them. Lucían's struggles with his religious upbringing contrasting with the truths he was now facing in the outside world were deeply relatable, and I was glad that the story addressed them. The story focused on Lucían both as a romantic protagonist and character having an arc of his own as he adjusted to life outside of the monastery. Glory was a fantastic romantic opposite and I really enjoyed getting to know her character. The cast of side characters was also wonderful to read about. I read this in two days and am now eagerly jumping into the second book! (Review cross-posted to other review sites)
