High School by Tegan Quin, Sara Quin

3.0

For the most part, I enjoyed this memoir. I went into this blind as I didn’t know a whole lot about Tegan and Sara. Although I did watch the Freevee series, I didn’t have a good sense of what was real and what was fictionalized. I definitely felt too young to know some of the cultural references and also too young to know their older music. The amount of drug references was also a little jarring in the beginning. However, it was interesting to hear about their friend drama and relationship problems. It was especially interesting to hear how they got famous at such a young age. The sound clips of their early demos was also cool. Overall, I would recommend this for fans of the artists, but casual listeners might find this very mid.
